The Destruction of American Democracy

The American nation is heading to the bottom of most of the world’s democracy because of Donald Trump and the Republican Party. The once separation of power with checks and balance:  that govern the US democratic practices for years in on its way out, if Trump has his way. Soon the US president can become a dictator and another American revolution is in the making.

The initial idea was to ensure no branch of government has too much power to protect the democratic process in the country. However for years the President has been given unnecessary political powers which reduced the congressional powers of both houses of congress. Both houses have been kicking the can down the road and now Trump is reaping the fruits from their errors.  Members elected to the houses of Congress were too darn lazy, blind, incompetent, political or ignorant to see further that getting elected for another term.

Today Trump has judges in the high court that will reverse and change the entire constitutional practices that were in place for many years. These judges are there for their lifetime and can only be removed by assassinations or impeachment.  The first system was used in Mexico to remove judges and it may soon be on the door steps of America.

Dictators in Syria, The Philippines, Turkey, Russia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, China, some African nations and North Korea and cementing their hold on power. Many countries where dictators reigned supreme are now seeing their power reduced because of the people demanding changes to their lives.  This system of people-power is catching on in many other countries and will soon spread through the entire world. 

Millions will die trying to regain their democratic rights, but their deaths may not be in vain because dictators are no heroes and will die or be killed. The evils of today world are governed by money, religion and ethnicity.  Peace is not on the table for this century and for many more to come.

Renewing Vincy Passport

I recently found out born Vincentians have to go through a ringer when renewing their passport. I renewed my Canadian passport with no problem in less than 15 minutes. I passed the Canadian Renewal Passport Application form to the SVG consulate in Toronto, so they can have an idea how to simplify the application process and avoid hassling Vincentians.
There was very little enthusiasm to even examine the document and one lady opined that SVG has a better system than Canada. This attitude point to the intelligent of some Vincentians and proves why SVG still operates in the days on the Pinta and Santa Maria.
